The conference entitled "Strangers, Aliens & Foreigners" will take place at Mansfield College, Oxford, United Kingdom from September 21-23, 2012.

This multi-disciplinary project seeks to explore the crucial place that strangers, aliens and foreigners have for the constitution of self, communities and societies. In particular the project will assess world transformations, new forms of migration and the massive movements of people across the globe, as well as the impact they have on the conceptions we hold of self and other.

Le Mansfield College à Oxford, au Royaume-Uni, accueillera la conférence « Strangers, Aliens & Foreigners » du 21 au 23 septembre 2012.

Cet événement multidisciplinaire vise à explorer le rôle crucial joué par les divers avatars de l'étranger dans la constitution du soi, des communautés et des sociétés. On s'intéressera particulièrement aux transformations mondiales, aux nouvelles formes de migration et aux déplacements massifs d'individus sur la planète, de même qu'à leur impact sur les conceptions que nous avons de nous-mêmes et d'autrui.
